Exporting charts |
|
MMI2 maintains all your charts in an internal
database.
If you wish to create a backup of the database or to pass some of your
charts to another person you will need to export the charts out of the
database and into a stand alone file.
MMI2 uses a new xml based file format (.Mmi) for exported charts.
This format is not compatible with older versions of MMI and users of
versions 1.* will not be able to open them.
How to export charts
To export chart/s use the File - Export command from the main
menu.
The Export Dialog will appear allowing to select the chart/s you wish to
export.
The Export options are:
* Export only the current chart.
If when exporting there is a chart opened in MMI2, that chart
will be be the first item on the list (in the example above Jane Doe's
chart was open)
* Export selected charts only
Select this option to specify exactly which charts you wish to export.
In the library view that occupies the bottom part of the Export Dialog
you can view all your charts and check the checkboxes next to ones you
are interested in. checking a folder will cause all the charts (and sub
folders) it contains to be added to the export list.
* Export all charts.
You this option to create a complete backup of your entire database.
Once you made your selection click the OK button to continue.
A Save As dialog will appear prompting you to name the resulting
files and select the location where you wish it to be saved.
After clicking the Save button the Export Progress dialog will
keep you informed regarding the export process's progress.
Export Dependencies
Whenever you export a composite chart (Connection Cycle, Penta etc...)
MMI2 will automatically add the Rave Charts that participate
in the composite to the export file list.
