If your approach is Strategic, your way of learning represents the dominant approach that has given us an evolutionary advantage up to this point in our history, through the application of specialized knowledge. This type of thinking is a product of what Human Design refers to as the “Left Strategic” Mind, which is the type of mental process reflected in our educational, business, political, and military establishments.

The Strategic Mind represents our dominant way of approaching learning. But we are in an evolutionary movement moving from the Left/Strategic (focused) to the Right/Receptive (non-focused). The Left strategies are what created the world we know today. Strategic formulas are based on survival, fear and trying to control with our minds. But that is not who we are. How to find out if you have a Left or Right Mind

To determine your cognitive approach you need only enter your birth data in our free Variable Calculator, which will reveal your Personality Sun/Earth orientation. (You will need an accurate time of birth for this calculation, as the Sun/Earth orientation changes every two hours). On the results page, there are two ways to identify whether you have a Left- or Right-oriented mind:

Approach 1: Chart Properties. If your Variable starts with PR, you have a Right and Receptive mind. If it instead begins with PL you have a Left and Strategic mind.

Approach 2: Your Human Design Chart. The Variable arrow to the top right of the BodyGraph represents the orientation of your Personality Sun/Earth. If it’s pointed to the right, you have a Right and Receptive mind. If it’s pointed to the left, you have a Left and Strategic mind.
