The whole thing to understand about the 14th Gate is that it carries within it all of the material potential of humanity, and it is the material potential of humanity in the sense that we understand it as energy, as money, as the material way, as the material path in life. After all, in the traditional I’Ching, the 14th Gate was only about the wagon and whether the wagon was going to be full of goodies or not.
It’s also very important to understand something about the nature of trying to create McLuhan’s global village. In order to be able to get to a point where you have a global village, that point starts with a way of exchanging energy, and we call that money. But exchanging energy is one of the most important themes in the development of humanity. If you can’t find a way to exchange energy, everybody has to hunt, everybody has to farm, everybody has to do basically everything because there is no way of exchanging the energy.
The development of money is the holiest thing. I’ve watched the money trip all of my life. I was born in a real splendor of wealth, and I have lived without anything whatsoever, and I have watched human beings and their money trip. But the whole thing to understand is something very simple: Money is a holy medium because it brings us all together. It’s much more difficult today in the world that we live in to really have global warfare as we knew it in the last century with the economic structure that we’ve created in what people call globalization. When you link everybody financially and you lock them in, they have to get along, sort of, and that’s the point.
So, one of the most important things about the development of civilization and the development of our evolutionary process is that we had to make money, we had to create this medium for energy. And the ones who were going to take advantage of it were the ones who knew something that others didn’t know. What to do?
Nonetheless, money is the business of enlightenment and awakening, and one should never forget it. I’m in the business of making money. If I don’t make money, Human Design is a failure. If nobody is willing to pay, if nobody is willing to invest, Human Design is a failure. Money is just the format, but it’s an essential format for humanity. By the way, money is never a problem, people are.
