The Rave Cosmology Series

For those of us who apply the concepts of Human Design to our lives, the impact is far-reaching. While applying just the foundational aspects of the knowledge can be highly effective, coming to know and fully understand our own Design and that of others takes time and commitment. For most, the insights and clarifications Ra Uru Hu received over 8 days in 1987 became the guide to how we can each live a correct life, in accordance with our Design.

But the mythology and mechanics of the Biverse transmitted to Ra by the Voice over those eight days went far beyond the personal. It was not knowledge that Ra shared initially. As he said, in the first 18 years after his encounter with the Voice, he was “laying a foundation for the general grasp of this knowledge and to be able to have some kind of implementation capacity — Authority, Strategy and what we can tell people about their Type and Profile”. Ra describes this initial foundation as “logical and empirical”.

Beyond that logical and empirical knowledge is the deeper insight the Voice transmitted — insight into the cosmological basis of the nature of being. This is the Bhan Tugh, the heart of Rave Cosmology. Ra chose to share this knowledge through a course he originally taught in the Fall of 2005 as the first in a series of semester courses for the Rave Cosmologist certification program. His goal was to hand this knowledge down to any who were interested; but ultimately, his goal in offering this course was to give everyone the ability to recognize a Rave child, and the ability to pass this knowledge on to the next generation.

For many of us, our initial experience of Human Design is practical. In exploring our Type, Strategy and Authority, we can better understand ourselves and make choices in alignment with our Design. When you first come to know your own Design, you can start experimenting with how the practical application of this new knowledge can bring you understanding, and more confidence and peace.

Those initial lessons in Human Design put very little emphasis on the mystical. But the reality is that Human Design was transmitted to Ra Uru Hu by a Voice, giving him the formula for the Human Design system, a body of knowledge he explored and refined through his teachings and analytical work with students over many years. While Human Design is focused on a practical application, its origins lie in a mystical experience. What can Human Design tell us about what lies beyond our human experience?

What happens after death? Is there a world beyond, or “afterlife”, and if so, how do we transition there?

The topic of death is full of mystery, and can evoke fear or even dread because we simply don’t know what awaits us. Many of us aren’t prepared to deal with the end of life. Without the right support strategies or knowledge, death is often a difficult experience to process, both psychologically and emotionally. That’s especially true when we’re dealing with loved ones and having difficulty letting go.

A number of spiritual traditions suggest the soul’s nature is eternal, and it’s a common Eastern concept that the soul journeys through many lifetimes—but Western culture does not readily embrace this belief. In the West, there is no one common concept that describes life after death. We are left feeling that the end of this life might be just that—a closure.

While Human Design primarily focuses on how we can live in a way that is correct for us, it also offers us a way to approach physical death and understand the transitional process leading to the afterlife.

Both the Tibetan Book of the Dead and Egyptian Book of the Dead attempt to shed light on the end of our physical existence, and how to successfully transition into what is referred to as the Bardo—the soul’s journey following physical death.

Human Design’s Rave Book of the Dead offers a modern manual that details how to approach the mechanics of death and transition out of form correctly, not only for ourselves but so that we can also assist others who are passing on.

In Rave Cosmology III: Dying, Death, and the Bardo Stages, Ra Uru Hu gives the most in-depth analysis yet of the mechanics of dying and death, and the extraordinary journey of Bardo. Over 10 lessons, you will learn about the 5 stages of dying, how to map Bardo sequences, and how to analyze a "death chart" through the insight it offers about unique end-of-life themes. This knowledge also gives us the chance to support others in meeting the end of life in a peaceful and correct way.

Once the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix ushers in major changes with the beginning of a new cycle starting in 2027, we will see the emergence of another form referred to as “Raves” in Human Design. Raves will co-exist with humans while we complete our process.

Most of us will see the changes this transition brings in our lifetime. We see the harbingers of it now, for example, in the increasing number of autistic children born. Humanity is being moved by evolutionary pressure to rise above the mammalian domain that established Tribal customs and culminates in the Individual mutative process and its potential for awakening.

"The Rave" is a term for the beings who will emerge from this evolutionary shift; they will function differently from humans and while they share our BodyGraph, will have a different cognitive process that is the completion of our evolutionary track. What does the future hold for those of us born before 2027? What will our role be in this evolutionary process, and what challenges will we face?

This is a fascinating time to be students of Human Design. On the personal level, nothing has changed. Most of us continue to explore what living our Authority and Strategy brings to our lives, and work to recognize the Not-Self in our lives and move past its conditioning.

But stepping back to look at the greater picture, everything — everything — is changing as we approach 2027. As Ra puts it, “We’re entering into the cycle of the Phoenix. We are entering into a domain in which things die and out of the ashes something new emerges.”

Brahma’s Night: creation unmanifested. As Ra noted — Death, ashes, and the emergence of something new. We are already seeing institutions deteriorating at an increasing rate as the frequency of the Cross of Planning and the support of our tribal approach to living fades away. What will these changes mean to humanity as a whole, and to us as individuals?

Understanding our innate role is key to unlocking our true purpose but we may not intuitively gravitate towards it. We all don costumes that we present to the outer world to represent who we are, but in many cases we simply are not wearing the one intended for us.

Ra’s lifelong fascination with the esoteric, and specifically the stars, led him to investigate the nature of stars and their unique imprint on human consciousness through the knowledge of Human Design.

In Rave Cosmology VII: The Nature of the Stars, Ra takes a theoretical approach explaining the mechanism of a star and the reasons for its existence, going beyond the mythology associated with it.

Stars form the bedrock of the whole phenomena of the Maia that we experience; the product of stars is the neutrino, which creates a neutrino ocean built on data streams that are sourced to all the stars in the heavens. There would be no consciousness without it. We each filter this data stream in unique ways, which creates the illusion of our own particular consciousness.
