We’ve built AI Ra — a language model like Chat GPT, but trained exclusively on Ra’s teachings. It can answer your Human Design questions, explain chart mechanics, and offer guidance.
The Evolution of the BodyGraph: A Vision Rooted in the Future
Oct 31, 2025

One of the most persistent misconceptions in the Human Design community is the belief that the changes to the BodyGraph—its rounded centers, curved circuitry, and slimmer design—were made after Ra's passing. Let's set the record straight: these changes were not only initiated by him but were part of a deliberate vision for the future of Human Design. They were born from the necessity to adapt to a rapidly evolving world, one increasingly dominated by mobile technology.
Adapting to a Mobile World: Ra’s Vision for the Future
Let’s go back to the mid-2000s. By then, it was already clear to Ra that the future of Human Design would require accessibility across new platforms. The world was moving toward smaller screens, and the original BodyGraph design—sharp, angular, and optimized for print and desktop—was not suited for this shift. The BodyGraph needed to evolve to remain functional and visually clear in this new digital landscape.
Ra tasked Mau Cattaneo, his graphic designer at the time, with creating the first iterations of a rounded BodyGraph. The goal was to maintain the integrity of the system while adapting its visual presentation to fit the constraints of mobile screens. These designs were not arbitrary, they were carefully crafted to preserve the mechanics and clarity of the BodyGraph while making it more user-friendly in a digital format.

Once these designs were finalized, he handed them to Antonio Blanco Alzola, who was instrumental in developing Jovian Mobile—the first online software to showcase this updated version of the BodyGraph. Jovian Mobile was a groundbreaking step, bringing Human Design into the palms of people’s hands and making it accessible in ways that were previously unimaginable. This was not a departure from the original vision of Human Design, it was an expansion of it, a necessary adaptation to ensure that the knowledge could reach as many people as possible in a world that was rapidly changing.
myBodyGraph: Expanding Ra’s Vision After His Passing
Following the development of Jovian Mobile, the rounded BodyGraph design found its next major platform in myBodyGraph, an application developed between 2011 and 2013 after Ra's passing. This project was spearheaded by his family as their first expansive effort to bring his teachings to a broader audience in an accessible and affordable way.

myBodyGraph was designed to empower individuals to explore their unique design directly, without needing to rely solely on professional analysts. The rounded BodyGraph, with its streamlined and mobile-friendly design, became central to this application, making it easier for users to interact with their charts on digital devices. Because myBodyGraph introduced this version of the BodyGraph to a much larger audience, many mistakenly believe that his family altered the original design. In truth, they simply carried forward the vision and tools he had already set in motion, ensuring that the system could evolve and thrive in a world increasingly shaped by technology.
The rounded BodyGraph was not a departure—it was a continuation of the path Ra had laid out, a testament to the adaptability of Human Design and the dedication of his family to preserving its integrity.
The Essence Remains: Mechanics Over Appearance
It’s important to understand that the essence of the BodyGraph has never changed. The mechanics, the synthesis, the profound depth of what it reveals about our nature—these remain untouched. What has evolved is the form, the visual representation, to meet the practical demands of modern technology. This evolution is not a betrayal of the system, it is a testament to its adaptability and resilience.
For those who feel nostalgic for the original sharp-cornered BodyGraph, we understand. Change can be unsettling, especially when it touches something as deeply personal and transformative as Human Design. But remember, the BodyGraph is a tool—a map of your unique mechanics. Its power lies not in its appearance but in its ability to guide you toward living as yourself.
The rounded BodyGraph is not a deviation from Ra's work, it is a continuation of it. It reflects his commitment to ensuring that Human Design remains accessible, relevant, and impactful in a world that is constantly evolving. So, the next time you see those rounded centers and curved channels, know that they carry the same truth, the same mechanics, and the same potential for transformation as the original design. They are simply dressed for the future—a future Ra saw coming and embraced.
Let’s honor the adaptability of this system and the vision that drives it forward. After all, Human Design is not static, it is alive, just as we are. And like us, it must evolve to thrive.
