Abstract
The Abstract, or Sensing Circuit is one half of the Collective Circuit Group. Abstract qualities include experiences, feelings, emotions, and reflections. The Abstract makes sense of the past for the benefit of the collective. The circuit theme is sharing.
Activation
Any Gate that is colored black or red on the BodyGraph, whether it is part of a defined Channel or not. An Activation can be Active or Dormant.
Active or Dormant
When an activation in the wheel is transposed to its corresponding Gate in the BodyGraph, the Gate is described as activated. However, if the Gate is in an undefined Center then it is activated but Dormant. Dormancy will end when the Center is defined by conditioning from either the transit field or another. If the Gate is activated in a defined Center, the activation is described as Active.
Ajna Center
The Ajna Center is the center of Conceptualization. Along with the Head Center, it forms Mind. Conceptualizing is channeled into three streams through which it can find potential expression in the Throat Center: the Abstract idea, the Logical Fact, and the Individual Insight.
Angle
We incarnate via three Geometries: Right Angle, Juxtaposition, and Left Angle. Angles are derived from the twelve Profiles. There are seven potential Right Angle Incarnations and four potential Left Angle Incarnations.
Aura
The Aura is an energy field. When someone steps into your aura, their Design impacts you as yours impacts theirs. The Aura of a Human varies according to Type but can be generally described. In terms of size, an Aura extends outwards approximately two meters (6 feet) in every direction.
Authority
There are two kinds of Authority: Inner Authority: What you can trust to make decisions, and it is never the mind. Outer Authority: The true and proper realm of mind. When liberated from making decisions, Outer Authority becomes a source of knowledge for others.
Awake
After de-conditioning, the state you maintain while making decisions as yourself.
Awareness
A point of transformation/awakening when one becomes an objective observer of one's life.
Awareness Centers
There are three Awareness Centers: the Splenic Center, the Ajna Center and the Solar Plexus Center. Respectively, they are Body, Mind and potential Spirit Awareness.

A Bardo Sequence begins after biological death and has the potential to last 72 hours.
Base
Bases are known as the Positioners and they are the foundation of all calculations. Crystals of Consciousness have five facets. These facets are referred to as Bases. Big Bang
In terms of The Human Design System, the Big Bang is Conception. The coming together of the original Yin (The Egg) and the great Yang (The Seed), which then initiated the expanding (Growing) Universe. In the language of the 'Voice' the conception of the 'child' which has yet to be born.

Human Design, being a genetic science, is rooted in the binary. The "this and that" is the essence of illusion.
Biverse
A term used by Ra Uru Hu to represent the dualistic nature of the cosmos.
BodyGraph
The circuit matrix of human differntiation, also known as the chart. A Human Design Chart/BodyGraph is the primary tool for Human Design Analysis.
Bridge
Any activation, whether from a transit or a person, that links a Split Definition in a person's chart. Bridges have a deep conditioning influence.
Center
There are 9 Centers in the BodyGraph. Each Center has a specific quality and plays a different role when Defined (colored in) or Undefined (white/open). Centering Circuit
The Centering Circuit is a minor Individual Circuit. Its theme is the empowerment of personal will.
Channel
A Channel is created by the joining of two activated Gates, resulting in Definition. There are 36 Channels, each of which carries a specific quality or energy between the Centers.
Chart
The circuit matrix of human differntiation, also known as the BodyGraph. A Human Design Chart/BodyGraph is the primary tool for Human Design Analysis.
Circuit
The BodyGraph, or Chart, is made up of six Circuits; Understanding Circuit, Sensing Circuit, Knowing Circuit, Centering Circuit Ego Circuit and Defense Circuit. Circuitry maps the way in which energy, or life force, flows within the Bodygraph.
Circuit Group
In BodyGraph Circuitry there are three circuit groups; Collective (Understanding/Sensing), Individual (Knowing/Centering) and Tribal (Tribal and Defense). Each circuit has a keynote which expresses the unifying theme of the group; Collective/Sharing, Individual/Empowerment and Tribal/Support.
Collective
A circuit group including the Understanding Circuit and Sensing Circuit. The Circuit theme is Sharing.
Companionship
In Partnership Analysis, the term applied to when both partners have a Channel defined in common in their respective Designs. Since we are attracted to what we are not, Companionship is relatively uncommon. It brings familiarity and security to a relationship.
Composite
Refers to the relationship between any binary; an individual Design with another, an individual design with a transit or an individual Design with any other Form.
Compromise
In Partnership Analysis, the term applied when one partner has a Channel defined and the other has only one aspect/Gate activated in the same Channel. Compromise is the most difficult aspect in relationships. As mechanics, it cannot be changed. One either accepts being ‘controlled’ in terms of that Channel or there will be conflict.
Conditioning
The imperative of our genes is to make more, and not simply make more but make something different. For its survival our species demands it; we are attracted to what we are not. The new combination promises mutation. The BodyGraph can never be fully or even heavily colored in. The whiteness is our openness to life and our vulnerability to the impact of the other. Instead of living the truth of what we are, what is defined and reliable in us, we try to become what we are not. Where the white rules is where the not-self lives.
De-Condition
The seven-year cellular process of transferring decision making from your mind to your Inner Authority by following the Strategy of your Type.
Defense Circuit
The Defense Circuit is a minor Tribal Circuit. It is the embodiment of the genetic imperatives to support reproduction and nurturing.
Defined Center
In a BodyGraph, the defined Center is colored in and always connected to another defined Center via a Channel. Defined Centers are what are fixed and reliable in your Design; you can trust them. Metaphorically, you could say that what is defined is the ‘student’ and what is open is the ‘course’ of study.
Definition
When Centers are connected to each other, when the Gates at either end of the Channel are activated, a Definition is formed. A Definition is what throughout life will be reliable and consistent. There are four different kinds of Definition: Single Definition - A continuous connection. Split Definition - Two areas of definition separate from each other. Triple-Split Definition - Three separated areas. Quadruple-Split Definition - Four separate areas. Finally, there are those without definition. Most importantly, definition or not leads to the core of Human Design knowledge and its value to you, Type.
Design
The term Design primarily refers to the BodyGraph as a whole, it is commonly used instead of “Human Design BodyGraph” or “Human Design Chart”. However, Design also refers to everything coded in red in the BodyGraph, which represents the nature of your unconscious. It stands for your bio-genetic inheritance, the themes of your ancestors that influence you unconsciously. While others will recognize these themes within you, you will learn to recognize your unconscious over time.
Design Crystal
The Design Crystal is an aspect of the original Prime Yin. It filters the form principle. It sits within the skull and is the intelligence that operates and maintains the body.
Design of Forms
The Human Design System is part of a larger knowledge revealed as the Design of Forms. Each Form has a unique matrix. Unique matrixes exist for the inanimate, the single Cell, Insects, Plants, Reptiles/Birds/Fish, Mammals and Humans. There are also two transpersonal Forms, the Penta and the Wa.
Detriment
An often misleading term to describe a polarity of a Line. For the not-self, the detriment is a burden. For the true self, it is obviously correct.
Differentiation
In the core of every Human cell is the DNA code of that individual. We know from cloning experiments that the DNA from a single cell can be used to re-create life. We have millions of cells within us each with their complete library. Yet in practice, blood cells do their job and muscle cells do theirs. They are differentiated, and only focus on certain potentials of the code. An Individual BodyGraph operates on the same principle. The entire code is present in the wheel, yet only certain aspects, the activations, are imprinted. Human Design as a science measures differentiation. In recognizing uniqueness lies the possibility of transcending judgment and discovering self love.
Dominance
In Partnership Analysis, the term applied when one partner has a Channel defined and the other partner has no Activations in the Channel at all. Dominance is a powerful unchangeable conditioning force in a relationship, where acceptance brings wisdom and resistance brings irresolvable conflict. Dominance is rarely the cause of serious problems in a relationship, though often annoying, it teaches both acceptance and appreciation of the difference of the other.
DreamRave
Human Beings receive their neutrino feed both vertically and horizontally. When Humans take a horizontal position, 48 vertically activated Gates become dormant. The remaining sixteen Gates, the identical matrix of mammals, form the DreamRave of the reclining or sleeping Human.
Earth
Keynote: Grounding and Balance The Earth represents how we find grounding, how we ground the energy of the Sun in our form, our body. The Sun and Earth always operate together and are located opposite each other in the Rave Mandala. It is through the Earth that we can find balance when dealing with the world of form and build stability if we are able to integrate the Personality correctly in our life. At an unconscious level, through the Earth we derive our capacity to come to terms with the world of form. The Earth is the primary Yin force.
Ego Circuit
A major force in the establishment of Human civilization, the Tribal Ego Circuit brings communal support. The circuit is the only one whose streams flow to the Heart Center and not the Throat. A circuit of communal will rooted in instinct and need.
Electro-Magnetic
In Partnership Analysis, the term applied when a Channel is defined by the partners each having an Activation at either end of the Channel. Electro-Magnetism is very dynamic and is experienced as love and hate, attraction and repulsion. Electro-magnetism despite its dynamic is an exciting component of relationship mechanics. Genetically we are designed to be attracted to what we are not. In electro-magnetism, the power of this imperative is obvious.
Emotional Wave
Approximately half of all Humans are emotionally defined. When it is defined, it is the Inner Authority in the Design. The Solar Plexus Center is one of the body’s Four Motors. In general the emotional wave is constantly moving from zenith to nadir, from hope to pain. Initiated in the Sixth Gate, the emotional Wave has three variations, the tribal ‘need’ wave, the individual ‘uncertainty’ wave and the abstract collective ‘desire’ wave.
Energy Type
A division of the Four Types, Energy Type refers to either Manifestors or Generators who represent nearly 75% of humanity.
Exalted
An often misleading term to describe a polarity of a Line. In the this and that of duality, exalted like detriment is relative.
G Center
The G Center is the true center of the being. It is formed by the Cross of the Sphinx and the Cross of the Vessel of Love. It is where the Magnetic Monopole resides. It is the Center of Identity and is associated biologically with the Liver. The not-self strategy of the undefined G leads to a life in search of direction and love.
Gate
There are sixty-four Gates in the Rave BodyGraph. Each Gate corresponds to one of the sixty-four Hexagrams that make up the outer edge of the Rave Mandala. Activation in any given Hexagram in the wheel is transposed to the corresponding Gate in the BodyGraph. It is the key ingredient for establishing Human differentiation. The specific imprinting is never general but specifically targeted to a theme within the body.
Generator
Generators and Manifesting Generators make up roughly 65% of the population, by far the largest Type group. Like Manifestors, Generators are also energy types; however, their energy works differently. They are not here to initiate but to wait for the world to come to them, so they can respond. They are energetically designed just for this and they have open and enveloping auras always ready to take in who and what is there for them. Once they respond to a person, event or action, they can then act with the full force of their power. Generators are the great builders. They have a tremendous amount of energy, but they need to use this energy correctly in order not to be enslaved by it. A generator who is out in the world making things happen will meet tremendous resistance. By learning to respond to what comes to them they can begin to eliminate this resistance and the frustration that comes from not living a life that honors their true nature. Only then will they experience satisfaction.
Geometry
Life is a matter of geometry. It is well established in physics that everything is moving and has been from the Big Bang. Geometry in Design is specifically a term applied to Incarnation Angles. Each Angle has a unique geometry. Right Angle geometry called Personal Destiny is unstable and conditioned by what bangs into to it altering its course. Left Angle geometry called Transpersonal Karma is about intersection and Juxtaposition geometry, fixed fate is a straight line.
Harmonic Gate
In a Channel where one Gate is activated, the unactivated Gate at the other end of the Channel is the Harmonic Gate.
Harmony
Based on Hexagram Structure, Harmony is a relationship between aspects of trigrams; the three Harmonies are 1/4, 2/5 and 3/6. These numerical harmonies also apply to potential relationships between Line and Color and Color and Tone.
Head Center
The Center of Inspiration is where the Personality Crystal resides. A large majority of Humanity have the Head Center undefined. The not-self strategy of the open Head Center is to think about things that do not matter.
Heart Center
The Heart (or Ego) Center has only four Gates but it is both powerful and complex. Each Gate of the Heart is associated with different organic functions; 51 the Gall Blander, 21 the Heart muscle, 40, the Stomach and 26, the Thymus Gland and T-Cells. The Heart is also the center of will. The strategy of the undefined Heart Center is always having something to prove to others or yourself.
Hexagram
From the Chinese tradition, the Hexagram is a structure built on six line variations of yin and yang possibilities. It is the key ingredient for establishing Human differentiation. The activation in a Hexagram becomes the activation of a Gate in the BodyGraph. The specific imprinting is never general but specifically targeted to a theme within the body.
Hexagram Structure
A Hexagram is a structure of six lines numbered from the bottom up. The hexagram is further sub-divided into two Trigrams, each with three lines. The lower Trigram is the first three lines from the bottom. The Upper Trigram is the following three lines to the top. The two trigrams are also related to each other through harmonies, 1/4, 2/5, 3/6.
History of the Human Design System
Ra Uru Hu had his educational encounter with the ‘Voice’ from January 3-11, 1987. Rumors circulating about him led a Dutch woman to seek him out and she received the first reading in March 1987. In 1989 on the outskirts of Frankfurt Germany, the Rave I’Ching was written. The first public lecture on Human Design was given by Ra in the Ibiza island village of San Miguel Allende on Valentine’s Day, 1992. The Rave I’Ching was published in English and German Editions in April, 1992. Professional Human Design was officially launched with Ra’s first tour in Europe beginning in Zurich, Switzerland in September, 1992. Ra created the family-held Jovian Archive Corporation, established in Sedona, Arizona, in 2000 to protect Human Design intellectual property and the rights of Human Design organizations and professionals worldwide. Ra Uru Hu passed away on March 12th, 2011. In 2014, Ra's family and the Jovian Archive Team launched myBodyGraph.com for the first time.

Human Design Calculation
The Human Design Chart is based on two calculations, a birth calculation along with a pre-natal calculation. Accurate time of birth is essential and establishes the database of the Personality. From the exact time of birth a retrograde calculation is made. The exact time is based on the length of time it takes the Sun to move eighty-eight degrees of arc. Human Experiential Way
The Human Experiential Way is the theme of the stream of Feeling, 41/30/36/35. This stream is the heart of the abstract process and the most specifically Human in BodyGraph Circuitry. It begins with the forty-first Gate; the imitating Codon meets the Fates in the thirtieth Gate and burning with desire moves from inexperience and crisis of the thirty-sixth Gate to experience and progress through manifestation in the thirty-fifth Gate.

Incarnation Cross
Incarnation Crosses reveal our life's purpose. Our life’s activity is expressed as our purpose, captured in our Incarnation Cross and lived out through our Profile, the costume we wear. An Incarnation Cross is formed by the crossing polarities of the Personality and Design Sun/Earths. The Sun and Earth are always exactly opposite each other in the wheel. The two Human Design Calculations are made approximately 88 or 89 days apart. If you were to place the positions of the Personality and Design Sun/Earths in a wheel and drew lines to join the Sun/Earth oppositions, the result would be a cross. There are one hundred and ninety-two general Incarnation Crosses based on Angle.

Inner Authority
Inner Authority reveals one of the most important things in life: what you can trust to make decisions as the unique individual you are. Inner Authority is the key to living correctly, and it is never the mind.
Integration Channels
Integration is actually a unique relationship between four Gates, 20/10/34/57, which form the only multi-gate definition potential. The theme of Integration is personal survival in the now.
Jovian Archive
The rights holder internationally to the Human Design System, The Global Incarnation Index, MMI Software and the Teachings of Ra Uru Hu. Jovian was established in 2000 in Sedona, Arizona and is a family-held corporation.
Jupiter
Keynote: Law and Protection Jupiter is a massive planet which, in astronomical and physical terms, exerts great influence in our solar system. Jupiter represents the law and the underlying principles that create, reinforce and uphold the law(s). It symbolizes the expansion of consciousness and broadens our perspectives so we can understand our relationship to the whole. It is an extremely benevolent force and can lead to growth if we observe the ethics and morals that are intrinsic to our process.
Juxtaposition
In Incarnation Mechanics, any Cross with a 4/1 Profile of fixed fate.
Kiron
Though it does not activate a Gate, Kiron, a large rock about the size of Manhattan Island caught between the gravitational forces of Saturn and Uranus, is a herald of a new age. Kiron is a marker in the transition from the Saturian to the Uranian life cycle. With its dual mythology of healing/wounding, the new age has its dangers but also its rewards.
Kiron Return
The Kiron return is a marker. The Kironian cycle around the Sun varies from fifty to fifty-one years. For the Sixth Line Being this return marks the opening of the ‘off the roof’ stage and the potential flowering of the life’s purpose.
Knowing Circuit
A major Circuit and the most complex, the Knowing Circuit is mutative and potentially empowering. Uncertainty is its theme, and melancholy its companion and potential muse. The Knowing circuit is part of the Individiual circuit group.
Left Angle
The Left Angle is the geometry of the transpersonal incarnation cross. Angle is determined by Profile. Left Angle Profiles are the 5/1, 5/2, 6/2 and 6/3.
Line
There are sixty-four Hexagrams, each with six Lines. There are three hundred and eighty-four Lines all together. The Rave I'Ching is the original work describing each Line.
Line Sub-Structure
The Line level is what we are limited to experiencing in these forms but the Line is the surface expression of the foundations it is built upon. Beneath each line are six potential Colors. Beneath the Colors are six potential Tones and beneath the Tones the five potential Bases.
Line Themes
Each Line of the Hexagram structure has a primary value expressed as its keynote: 1. Introspection 2. Projection 3. Adaptation 4. Externalization 5. Universalization 6. Transition
Logic
The Understanding, or Logic Circuit is one half of the Collective Circuit Group. The understanding circuit describes the logical process of the Collective, built on patterns that need to be tested, validated and substantiated by details so they are reliable and carry us forward into the future. This is about sharing our logical gifts such as analysis, assessments, opinions, details etc. to concretize patterns of life. The circuit theme is sharing.
Lower Trigram
The lower Trigram consists of the first three Lines from the bottom up of any Hexagram.
Magnetic Monopole
The Magnetic Monopole, along with the Neutrino and Personality and Design Crystals, are the primary instruments of the Maia. The Magnetic Monopole sits in the sternum in the G Center. It is the ‘driver’ of the vehicle and has two functions. As a ‘mono’ pole it only attracts and holds us together in the illusion of separateness. As the driver, it guides us along our geometry. The physical discovery of the magnetic monopole will answer the questions of gravity and mass.
Maia
From the Sanskrit ‘ma’ roughly, ‘to measure’, Maia is the expression of duality. Human Design is the Mechanics of the Maia.
Manifesting
To manifest is a function of the Throat Center, the metamorphic center of the thyroid. Manifesting has two aspects, action and speech.
Manifesting Generator
The manifesting Generator is neither a Manifestor nor a separate Type, it is a sub group of Generator. The two Types of Generator are the pure Generator (Throat is not defined to a Motor) and the Manifesting Generator (the Throat is connected to a Motor). In both cases, the Sacral Center is defined and the Strategy, Aura, Not-Self Theme, and Signature are the same.
Manifestor
Manifestors are energy types and make up roughly 10% of the population. They always have the capacity to initiate and to act and they don’t need anyone’s help doing it. They are energetically designed to be closed to the other and in fact their energy repels or acts as a barrier to the outside world to protect their independence. It is this energy type that has become our cultural ideal of how to be in the world. We have all been told at one time or another to go out and make things happen, to manifest our intentions, and so on. However, this type of independent action is exclusive to Manifestors. And in actual fact, when we have a Manifestor in our lives, we resist their natural capacity to act because we are both afraid of their independence and of how we are impacted by their actions. When Manifestors act, they always impact those around them and each action creates a ripple of effects. To eliminate the resistance that Manifestors meet from those around them, they have a strategy, which is to first inform before they act. This simple act of informing builds trust and paves the way for them to move freely and without resistance. When a Manifestor is not living out their true nature they are always dealing with anger as a theme. However, when they begin to understand themselves and inform before they act, this anger turns to peace.
Mars
Keynote: Energy Dynamics Mars symbolizes the use of energy, from the early immature way of using this primal force, completely free of responsibility and often uncontrollably, to a mature use later in life. It represents the fundamental dynamic drive to use energy that is available for our life process and personal transformation. Over time, we learn to use this energy in a wiser and more discerning way. The gate that Mars activates shows a specific area/theme through which this dynamic force is focused to teach us about correct use of energy.

Mental Strategies
Deconditioning’s greatest enemy is the mind. The mind is the expression of not-self strategies. Mental strategies are techniques to distract the mind and recruit it as an ally. The mental strategies are for a Manifestor, know who you impact, for a Generator, know yourself, for a Projector, know the other and for a Reflector, know your milieu.
Mercury
Keynote: Communication and Thinking Mercury is associated with Mind and mental functions. Mercury activations in the chart point to essential concepts that need to be expressed. On the Personality side, the theme of the gate it activates shows what we need to communicate and how we will express it. On the Design Side, it denotes a theme that is largely unconscious but equally important, and therefore builds pressure until it finds a way to express itself.
Metamorphic Gates
Technically, all the Gates of the Throat Center are metamorphic. Three Gates, 62/23/56, are unique in their capacity to transform concepts into language: as facts, explanations, and beliefs respectively.
Mid-Life Point
In Human Design Analysis the mid-life point is based on the Uranus opposition that occurs between the ages of thirty-eight and forty-four. This point divides the life into a South Node phase, the first half and a North Node phase, the second half. Unlike the Saturnian Cycle that dominated life for millenniums, the Uranian Cycle began in 1781 with Uranus’ discovery by Herschel. Maturity today is not possible until one enters the North Node phase of their life.
Moon
Keynote: The Driving Force The Moon represents the force that moves us—the driving force in our Design focused through the lens of the gate it activates. Lunar energy is experienced through our form as we experience daily life through the body's instinctive mechanisms. The Moon travels through all the gates of the bodygraph over the course of a month (approximately) and therefore is a potent force in our lives.The energy and thematic of the Sun inform the Moon and are reflected by it, thereby giving it expression.
Motors
In the Human Design BodyGraph there are four Motors: the Sacral (reproductive), the Heart (will), the Solar Plexus (the emotional wave) and the Root (pressure).
Mutation
In Human Design, the quality of Individual Circuitry. Without mutation, life could not survive or evolve.
Neptune
Keynote: Illusion and Spirituality (Transcendence) Neptune in your chart reveals the area where you are most susceptible to illusion and misperception. Neptune hides or veils the truth until we can perceive a deeper underlying reality. It is an unyielding and powerful force, persistently propelling us to surrender our separateness and break through the veil of Maya.* It rules both the world of glamour and of deep mystical truth. Neptune veils the potential of the gates it activates, with the potential of magic emerging from behind the veil once surrender happens. *The illusion or appearance of the phenomenal world.
Neutrino
Human Design uses your birth data to calculate your Chart, also known as your BodyGraph. This is based on the science of Neutrinos—tiny particles that carry mass and information and which determine your unique imprinting. We live in a dense neutrino ocean with trillions of neutrinos originating from the stars in our solar system. They pass through everything leaving an imprint of information wherever they travel.

In an awake state, no choice is obvious through the mechanical evidence of helplessness. Ultimately the recognition of no choice leads to the embrace of helpless choices in the Maia.
No Truth in the Now
An emotional being with a defined Solar Plexus is always operating in a wave. Since the wave is moving any perception of an experience in the now is conditioned by the perspective of the place on the wave between hope and pain. For the emotional being, there is no truth in the now, only samples, to be collected and pondered until clarity arrives. Patience is the greatest virtue of the emotional being and time its most loyal and rewarding friend.
Non-Energy Type
A division of the four Types, the Non-Energy Type refers to Projectors and Reflectors who neither can manifest nor generate. Non-Energy Types represent about 25% of humanity, consisting mostly of Projectors (23%).
Non-Sacral Being
There are two basic kinds of beings, Sacral (Generators: Sacral defined) or Non-Sacral (Manifestors/Projectors/Reflectors: Sacral undefined/open).
North Node
Keynote: Future Direction and Environment In Design Analysis the Nodes of the Moon divide life into two basic dynamics, the South and North Node phases. The Nodes are not planets, but positions—points where the path of the Moon crosses the ecliptic—and constitute an essential aspect of our Design. The Personality North Node reveals the perspectives we develop about the world in our second half of life while the Design Node delineates how we experience and relate to our environment. The theme of our North Nodes sets the stage for the mature way of experiencing life after our Uranus Opposition (38-43 years), when we shift from the South to the North node and move toward a place of accomplishment and fulfillment. During the North Node phase we integrate our learning experience from the first half of life.
Not-Self
The term applied to any human being making decisions based on the authority of mind.

Every open Center in the BodyGraph develops a not-self strategy that conditions mental decisions.
Not-Self Theme
More often than not, making decisions based on mental reasoning will lead to resistance and ultimately the Not-Self theme of your Type: Anger for Manifestors Bitterness for Projectors Disappointment for Reflectors Frustration for Generators
Off the Roof
Sixth-Line beings' lives are divided into three distinct phases. The off the Roof phase begins with the Kiron Return as is the true period of flowering for a nine-centered being living in the extended Uranian cycle. This is an extremely vulnerable transition for the not-self. This final phase neither expresses the pessimism of youth nor the optimism of mid-life but the wisdom of self correct in the now.
On the Roof
Sixth-Line beings' lives are divided into three distinct phases. The Roof phase is from the Saturn Return to the Kiron Return. This phase is one of withdrawal from the subjective and the embrace of the objective.
Open Center
In a BodyGraph, the open Center is white. Open Centers are neither empty or broken, nor do they need to be fixed. Open Centers are vulnerable to being conditioned. When a person with an open Center meets someone who colors that Center in, they amplify as a response. If you have a Solar Plexus that is white and you meet someone who is in a bad mood and has that Center defined/colored in, then in meeting them you will take in and amplify their emotional wave. This is not a pleasant experience. Metaphorically, you could say, that what is defined is the ‘student’ and what is open is the ‘course’ of study.
Opposition
With the wheel come oppositions. There are 32 Hexagram oppositions in the wheel. Each opposed Hexagram is the true opposite of the other; as in the six yin lines of the second Gate opposite the six yang lines of the first Gate. There are also three oppositions that form definitions; 20/34, 40/37 and 43/23. The Sun and Earth and the Nodes of the Moon are exact oppositions. Also described as Polarity.
Outer Authority
There are two kinds of Authority, Inner and Outer. Outer Authority is the true and proper realm of mind. When liberated from making decisions, Outer Authority becomes a source of knowledge for others. This is the mind's true purpose: to share with, and empower, other minds with its conceptualizing.
Partnership Composite
In Human Design Analysis, the combination of each Partners activations in a single BodyGraph. Partnership Analysis is concentrated on Center formulas and Channel formulas. When two beings are visible in one chart the number of defined Centers is significant. Channel formulas are based on the four ways that we meet in the BodyGraph (see Companionship, Compromise, Electro-Magnetic and Dominance).
Passenger
In the metaphor for a being, the Passenger (Personality Crystal) sits in the back seat of the Vehicle (Design Crystal) driven by the Magnetic Monopole and looks out the windows.
Passenger Consciousness
The surrendered acceptance of choicelessness and the role of non-identified witness.
Penta
Penta is a transpersonal Form. A Penta aura is formed when there are three, four or five individuals in regular proximity to each other. The Penta is the coordinating aura of human reproductive activity. The genetic imperative is to make more. When two becomes three, genetic pressure is not released since maintaining a viable population demands that each couple produce two offspring. Genetic pressure in fact ends with the addition of the third child resulting in a foundation Penta.
Personal Destiny
The geometry of the Right Angle incarnation is Personal Destiny. This is a self-absorbed incarnation. Profiles with Personal Destiny are 1/3, 1/4, 2/4, 2/5, 3/5, 3/6 and 4/6.
Personality
The Personality, everything coded in black in the BodyGraph, represents what you have conscious access to. These are things you know about yourself and will recognize and identify with. The Personality is who you think you are.
Personality Crystal
The Personality Crystal is an aspect of the original Yang. It filters the mind principle. It sits in the Head Center and manifests who we think we are. It is the passenger. In western religious concepts, it is the soul. It is the ‘eternal’ witness. According to Rave Cosmology, the Personality Crystal is relatively immortal, always functions from the same Base and is our incarnative continuity. From incarnation to incarnation new Design Crystals are paired with the Personality Crystal providing evolving platforms for the experiencing of the passenger of consciousness in form.
PHS
Each Human Being has a unique health pattern based on the Line sub-structure level, Tone. There are six Tones. When an individual is living correctly as themselves, their health pattern is fixed. There are six Primary Health System (PHS) platforms, each with 36 Variations. The Primary Health System provides diagnostic, therapeutic and holistic guidelines for each of the health patterns. Pluto
Keynote: Truth, Transformation and Psychology A main keyword for Pluto is Transformation. The gate that Pluto activates in your chart is an area where you directly experience transformation and renewal to find truth. Pluto is an extremely powerful force that brings to the surface anything that is hidden but needs to be brought into the realm of consciousness. Finding those deep aspects of your own truth is a lifelong process of exploration to come to terms with that essential truth within yourself. Ra Uru Hu on Pluto: Grandma. Grandma is delicious. When you are a kid and ask your mother, "How are babies made?" she coughs and goes to the refrigerator and changes the subject. You walk out of the house knowing you will not get a straight answer and then, next time you visit your grandma and ask her the same question, she scares the hell out of you by telling you the truth! This is the whole thing to understand about the nature of Pluto. Pluto will tell you the TRUTH. Wherever you see Pluto in your chart, this really is your truth.
Polarity

Pressure Centers
There are two Pressure Centers; the Head and Root, mental and physical pressure respectively.
Profile
Profile, along with Type, provides the simplest synthetic view of a Design. Everyone comes into the world with a specific Profile or purpose. It is through this purpose that we can see how each Type can fulfill itself. Profiling is rooted in an understanding of the nature and structure of a hexagram. There are twelve Profiles derived from the Line positions of the Personality Sun/Earth and the Design Sun/Earth. Since the Sun/Earth is an exact opposition, they are always activating the same line. Profile is expressed by combining the line of the Personality followed by the line of the Design. Profile also determines the Angle of an incarnation.
Profile Foundation
Every Line has a binary structure. A Line has an arc (see Arc, degrees of) of 56’15”. The main portion of the Line has an arc of 48’45”. This large portion of the Line is its basic nature and is called the Foundation. The following 07’30” of arc in every Line is a transition field where the basic nature of the Line begins a process of transformation that leads to the next level. The mathematics is not arbitrary but the result of the eighty-eight degree difference in arc between the birth and pre-natal Suns. Foundation Profiles are always Resonances; 1/3, 2/4, 3/5, 4/6, 5/1, 6/2.
Profile Transitions
The least common of Profiles, Transition Profiles are connectors. Transition Profiles are always Harmonies; 1/4, 2/5, 3/6, 4/1, 5/2, 6/3.
Projection
In Profile Analysis, terms applied to the second and fifth Lines. The second Line is a line of Projection. These are the naturals who await discovery by others. The fifth Line, the harmony to the second Line, benefits from projection that it can best serve the need of the other. In the second Line case the projection is based on what can be recognized but the fifth Line projection is not based on what is recognized but what is hoped for or assumed.
Projector
Projectors are non-energy types and make up a little over 20% of the population. Unlike Manifestors and Generators, they are not here "to do." As Generators are the great builders, Projectors are the great guides and they are here to help the other types (and particularly Generators) manage their energy. Energetically Projectors absorb and take in the other in a very focused way. They are here to be recognized and to recognize the potential in those around them. The strategy for a projector is to wait for the correct invitation. It is that invitation, the one that recognizes their unique potential, which calls out the power of the projector. When a projector tries to push the river and make life happen for them, they meet resistance and this resistance can leave them with a bitter taste. The true goal for a projector is success, and not bitterness, but this can only be achieved when they are being recognized for who they are.
Pure Generator
A sub-division of the Generator Type, the pure Generator has a defined Sacral and the Throat Center is either undefined or defined but not connected to a motor.
Purpose
Within all Humans is a need to find purpose in life. True purpose is fulfilled when you live correctly as yourself. According to Rave Cosmology, purposed is fulfilled on your Cross. We each incarnate with a purpose, yet a purpose that can not be accessed by the not-self. In following the strategy of your Type and honoring your specific inner Authority after a period of seven years of deconditioning, then you can begin to experience the purpose of your incarnation.
Quadruple-Split Definition
In Human Design BodyGraph mechanics there are four kinds of possible definitions. Quadruple-Split definition is rare. There are four separate unconnected definitions in their BodyGraph configuration.
Quarters
The wheel is divided into four Quarters. Each Quarter is composed of 16 consecutive Hexagrams and begins with a variation of the Right Angle Cross of the Sphinx and ends with a variation of the Right Angle Cross of the Four Ways. The Four Quarters are Initiation, Civilization, Duality and Mutation.
Ra Uru Hu
Born Alan (Robert) Krakower in Montreal, Canada April 9, 1948. He disappeared in 1983 and re-emerged as Ra on the Island of Ibiza and began a process of mystical deconstruction climaxing with his encounter with the "Voice." Titled ‘Uru Hu’ by the "Voice," Ra's encounter and education lasted from January 3-11, 1987.
Rave
The name given generally to nine-centered beings (Humans since 1781) by the "Voice" and specifically referring to the emergence of a new Human species after 2027.
Rave Chart
An individual Human Design chart is called a Rave Chart.
Rave Children
According to Rave Cosmology, at the end of the present cycle in 2027, a new specie of Human will begin to arrive with a mutated Solar Plexus. The mutation of the Solar Plexus will transform this center from a wave motor into a new form of awareness, often called spirit awareness. Without knowledge of their presence, others will diagnose many of these children as autistic and they will never have the opportunity to fulfill their purpose. Rave Children will be Designed to function in "conscious" Pentas and will need the company of their own kind right from the beginning of their lives. It will be a great endeavor to find and gather these beings as they incarnate.

Rave Mandala
Synthesis brings beauty and depth to Human Design. The Rave Mandala, the wheel and the BodyGraph, synthesizes many principles. The wheel derived from eastern and western Astrology forms the framework of the calculation, the Hexagram of Chinese tradition is the integrator through its genetic parallel and acts as the agent of transference of imprinting to the body. The Channels are rooted in Kabala and are quantum forces. The Gates when they interact within the channel become something else, the whole that is greater than the sum of its parts and finally, the Centers are derived from the Hindu-Brahmin Chakra system. Like the Sphinx with its many identifiable attributes, it cannot be defined as a whole by any of them. A sphinx is a sphinx. Human Design is a true synthesis that as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Rave New Year
The forty-first Gate is the initiating pressure of the Human Experiential Way and the only ‘Start’ Codon in its generic relationship. All experience begins with the forty-one. It is an arm of the Right Angle Cross of the Unexpected. When the Sun transits into the forty-first Gate, just around the third week of January, the new annual programming cycle begins.
Recognition
The main attribute of the Projector Type is a gift for recognizing and being recognized.
Red
In the Rave Chart, red is the color code for the Design, the unconscious. The red in a chart is not accessible but hidden. Over time, these hidden aspects become experienced as traits. The only way to operate correctly at the unconscious level is in following one’s strategy.
Reflector
Reflectors are unique among all the other types in that they are not fixed in the way they emit energy. They are very open to the world around them. They make up a very small percentage of the population, only approximately 1-2%. Their gift is to be able to take in and reflect the energy of their companions, their tribe and their world. Given their extreme openness, they are naturally protected energetically to be resistant and to sample the energy around them. The strategy for a reflector is one that requires patience. For them to make clear and healthy decisions they need to wait out the cycle of the moon, approximately 28.5 days. When a reflector is not living as themselves they can live a life plagued by disappointment as they are so deeply linked to the energy of the other. However, the goal for them is not to be disappointed by the world but to be surprised by it and all that it has to offer.
Resonance
Based on Hexagram Structure, Resonance is a relationship between the same Lines (numerically) in different Hexagrams.
Respondability
The Sacral Center has nine Gates. Each of these gates has a respond-ability that determines sacral response and action. The fifth Gate in Human Design, as an example, is a gate of Patterns. This gate will focus the response of the sacral on the presence of patterns or not and has the ability to respond when the pattern is correct.
Response
Despite Human vanity, we are not creative, we are reactive. Existence is a response. Every human experience of thinking, doing or saying is initiated in the deep gray areas of the brain before they are codified by the neo-cortex. Our lives are a constant response to stimuli.
Retrograde
The relative movement of the Sun, Moon, Planets and Nodes in a Counter-Clockwise direction.
Return
The Sun, Moon, Planets and Nodes are all in movement around the wheel. A return refers to any imprinting element completing a cycle arriving at its originating position. In Human Design Analysis, three Returns are of specific importance, the Rave Return (the annual return of the Sun, also called Solar Return), the Saturn Return and the Kiron Return.
Right Angle
The Right Angle is the geometry of a Personal Destiny incarnation cross. Angle is determined by Profile. Right Angle Profiles are the 1/3, 1/4, 2/4, 2/5, 3/5, 3/6, 4/6.
Role
In the metaphor of the "movie," when you have a Role, you find your purpose. Finding your Role is what you achieve when you transcend the attributes and characteristics of your Design and live out your Cross and Profile as yourself.
Role Gates
Through the principle of Genetic Continuity, all first Lines have a relationship to each other. They share a similar function in acting as the foundation of the structure. This can also be said of all other lines in that all 64 variations of each line of each hexagram have a structural relationship to each other. There are six primary Role Gates, 10/7/1/13/59/27. The Lines of these Role Gates provide themes for understanding the structural values of similar Lines in other Hexagrams. As an example the names associated with Profile are derived from the tenth Gate of Behavior. Root Center
One of the nine centers in the BodyGraph, the Root has extraordinary influence in the physical life. It is associated biologically with the adrenal system. It is one of the body’s four Motors and is the source of physical pressure. The not-self strategy of the open Root Center is, being in a hurry to get rid of the pressure.
Sacral Authority
A Generator with an undefined Solar Plexus (approx. 35% of humanity) has its sacral response as its inner Authority and decision-making mechanism.
Sacral Being
A sacral being is another term for Generator.
Sacral Center
In Human Design one of the nine Centers. The Sacral Center is the dominant force on this planet. It is the reproductive power of the ovaries and testes and the source of all life. Each sacral being as they exist, share in the generation of the Maia. When the sacral is freed from the slavery of the not-self, then real transformation on the planet is possible. Know thyself is their motto and via their response is the way.
Sacral Voice
The sacral voice is the physical response out of the Sacral Center audible or not to stimuli.
Saturn
Keynote: Discipline and Limitation At around age 29 - 31, we complete our first Saturn cycle, signifying the beginning of adulthood. Saturn is best described as the task-master, the discipline that allows us to follow through with our tasks in this lifetime. Whatever is left unattended to will show up as limitations or burdens that hinder our progress until we accept our obligations. These limitations are primarily focused in the gates activated by Saturn. Saturn builds structures, and once we attend to and fulfill our responsibilities, we experience the positive side of Saturn—the support it provides us so that we may accomplish our purpose in life and live out our destiny.
Saturn Return
The Saturn return is an important stage in life generally but specifically as a marker in the phases of a sixth-line being's life. The return occurs approximately 29 years after birth.
Sensing Circuit
The Abstract, or Sensing Circuit is one half of the Collective Ciruit Group. Abstract qualities include experiences, feelings, emotions and reflections. The Abstract makes sense of the past for the benefit of the collective. The circuit theme is sharing.
Signature
By living according to your Strategy & Authority, the potential is there to experience the signature of your Type as the norm in your life: Surprise for Reflectors Peace for Manifestors Satisfaction for Generators Success for Projectors

In Rave BodyGraph Analysis, one of the four kinds of Definition. Single definition is the continuous connection of two or more Centers.
Sixth Line Being
Humans lived forever under the laws of the thirty year Saturian cycle. In 1781, with the discovery of Herschel a new cycle emerged to condition the life cycle, the Uranian cycle of eighty-four years. In the Uranian cycle with its extended life span the stages of development have been transformed. As part of this mutation, sixth line beings are incarnating to function as archetypes of the new cycle. A sixth line being is someone with a 6th Line in their Profile. There are four variations; 3/6, 4/6, 6/2, 6/3. The life of these beings is divided into three phases: birth to Saturn Return (the trial and error phase); Saturn Return to Kiron Return (the Roof phase of objective aloofness); and the off the Roof phase after the Kiron Return (the time for flowering). Sixth Line beings are particularly vulnerable in the first and final phases.
Sleeping Mechanics
The correct approach to sleep is essential to the well being of everyone. Sleep approach varies depending on whether you are Sacral-defined or not. Generators, the only Sacral beings, according to their mechanics should only go to sleep when they are exhausted. Non-Sacral beings—Manifestors, Projectors and Reflectors—according to their mechanics should assume a horizontal position long before sleep.
Solar Plexus Center
In Human Design one of the nine Centers. The Solar Plexus is complex and in mutation. It is one of the body’s four motors. Known in Design as the emotional Wave, the Solar Plexus motor can be deeply distorting. Half of all humanity has this Center defined. For half of humanity, there is no truth in the now. Patience and time are the only allies of the Solar Plexus motor. The other half of humanity with this Center open has the not-self strategy of avoiding confrontation and truth. A defined Solar Plexus is always the Inner Authority in someone’s Design.
Solar Plexus Mutation
In 2027, according to Rave Cosmology, the Solar Plexus will experience a mutative event through the agency of the fifty-fifth and forty-ninth Gates genetically expressed as the Codon Histidin. This mutation will release the potential of the vast neural network of the Solar Plexus in the emergence of Rave Children and conscious Penta awareness.
South Node
Keynote: Past Direction and Environment In Design Analysis the Nodes of the Moon divide life into two basic dynamics, the South and North Node phases. The Nodes are not planets, but positions—points where the path of the Moon crosses the ecliptic—and constitute an essential aspect of our Design. The South Node phase is the developmental stage of experiencing early life until we reach our Uranus Opposition at around 38 - 43 years. The transition from the South Node to the North Node symbolizes that point when we have reached a place of maturity. The Personality South Node, through the gate/line it activates, illustrates how we perceive the world around us and the perspectives we develop about it during the first half of life. On the Design side, it describes the early environments that form the background within which we experience life.
Splenic Awareness
In Human Design, there are three awareness centers. Splenic awareness has a frequency of operating in the now. It is experienced as a ‘hunch’ or ‘gut feeling’ as an expression of immune response.
Splenic Center
In Human Design, one of the nine centers. The Splenic Center is the first and oldest awareness center. Biologically it is associated with the Human immune system, the Spleen, the Lymphatic System and is the well being center of the BodyGraph. It operates existentially through three themes, instinct, intuition and taste. The not-self strategy of the undefined splenic center is to hold on to things that are not good for you.
Split Definition
In Human Design BodyGraph mechanics there are four kinds of possible definitions. Split definitions are common. There are two separate unconnected definitions in their BodyGraph configuration. The most important advice for splits is the value of a public place where they can be private. Splits always seek bridges to give them a sense of wholeness, yet these bridges can also become controlling agents. The public aura allows splits to enjoy the value of bridges without being directly conditioned by them.

Sun
Keynote: Personality Expression & Life Force The Sun represents our core energy, our primal life force. Our Personality Sun shows how we express our Self (essence) in the world while the Design Sun denotes the genetic themes inherited from our father, themes lived out unconsciously. The Sun is the closest star and we receive 70% of the neutrinos from it, therefore it has the strongest influence in our life. The Sun represents the theme of our incarnation, how we express our “light” in the world. It is the primary Yang force.
Sun/Earth
The Sun and Earth are always opposite each other in the wheel. They are the archetypal Yang and Yin, Father and Mother, and the primary initiating and materializing principles of life.
Third Line Dilemma
Half of all Profiles are associated with the third Line, either as third line Profiles, 1/3, 3/5, 3/6, 6/3 or sixth Line Profiles with third Line initiating phases, 4/6, 6/2. The third line themes of the Martyr and pessimism can be deeply misleading. The third Line is here to discover what does not work. Its trial and error process is experienced by the not-self as mistakes and failure. In truth, without the gifts of the third Line and its capacity to ‘get back on its feet’, nothing would ever be challenged or transformed. When third Line children are no longer punished for ‘their mistakes’ but are encouraged to enjoy the process of discovery, the dense fog of pessimism on this planet will evaporate.
Third Line Phase
The life process of all Sixth Line beings is divided into three phases. In the initial phase from birth to Saturn return, the sixth lines actually experience the cycle as if they were their harmony, the third line. Thus the six must go through a phase of trial and error before it goes up on the Roof.
Throat Center
In Human Design, one of the nine centers. The Throat Center is the most complex with eleven Gates, each metamorphic and an expression of Thyroid function. The Throat is the center of manifestation. Manifesting is action as the result of the Throat being connected by continuous definition to any of the body’s four motors excepting the Sacral. Manifesting is also speech as a result of the Throat being defined. The not-self strategy of the open Throat center is to try to attract attention.
Tone
In sub-structure, the second level below the Line. There are six Tones per Color referred to as Sensors each measuring 01’33.75” of arc. The six Tones are in fact three binaries, each associated with an awareness center; Splenic Binary Tones one and two, Ajna Binary Tones three and four and the Solar Plexus Binary Tones five and six. The six Tones are: 1. Security 2. Uncertainty 3. Action 4. Meditation 5. Judgment 6. Acceptance
Transit
Everything is in motion. The motion of the imprinting elements in Human Design—the Sun, Moon, Nodes and the Planets—are tracked around the wheel of the Rave Mandala. The wheel has many different divisions; by Hexagram, Line, Color, Tone and Base. When any of the elements crosses one of the wheels many divisions, it is called a transit.

In Human Design Analysis, the impact of the transiting field of the Sun, Moon, Nodes and the Planets on an individual Design.
Transpersonal
The term transpersonal is used in three different contexts: 1. In Hexagram structure, the upper Trigram Lines are referred to as transpersonal. Where the Lower Trigram is self absorbed, the Upper Trigram is focused on the other. 2. In Incarnation mechanics, the Left Angle Cross geometry is transpersonal karma. 3. In the Design of Forms, there are the two transpersonal Forms: the Penta and the Wa.
Transpersonal Karma
In Incarnation mechanics, the geometry of the Left Angle. What the Right Angle researches in its personal process, the Left Angle communicates through its transpersonal connections. This is the geometry of intersection.
Trial and Error
In hexagram structure there is a harmony between the third and sixth Lines. As the top Lines of their respective Trigrams, they embody completion principles. The third Line theme of Trial and Error is in harmony with the sixth Line theme of Wisdom. Only through trial and error can truth be experientially confirmed or not. The essence of being Human is evolving greater and greater efficiency. Without the third Line capacity to discover flaws, to experience failure, each succeeding generation would have to start from the same point of inexperience and distrust. Sadly the third Line experienced as not-self leads to pessimism, distrust and a loss of self worth.
Tribal
A circuit group including the Ego Circuit and Defence Circuit. The Circuit theme is Support.
Trigram
A Hexagram is a structure of six lines numbered from the bottom up. The hexagram is further sub-divided into two Trigrams, each with three lines. The lower Trigram is the first three lines from the bottom. The Upper Trigram is the following three lines to the top. The two trigrams are also related to each other through harmonies, 1/4, 2/5, 3/6.
Triple-Split Definition
In Human Design BodyGraph mechanics there are four kinds of possible definitions. Triple-Split definitions are not common. There are three separate unconnected definitions in their BodyGraph configuration. The most difficult aspect for the Triple-Split is the time it takes to make a decision as a whole.
True Self
In the mechanics of Human Design, the true self is the product of making correct decisions based on inner authority.
Type
Humanity is divided into four Types: Manifestors, Generators (including Manifesting Generators), Projectors and Reflectors. Each Type has its own Strategy, Signature, Not-Self Theme, and Aura. Type is the key to awakening and the transformation of human consciousness.
Unconscious
One of the true values of Human Design Analysis is its ability to explain the true nature of the unconscious. In Human Design, the unconscious is found in the Design data, color coded Red. The unconscious is our bio-genetic inheritance and the hidden forces within us. Where the Personality is conscious and accessible, the Design unconscious is its opposite. If you imagine that an individual BodyGraph is a road map, the Personality is the surface roads, and the Design is the tunnels.
Undefined
In Human Design, undefined is a term for an open or white center. The undefined center is neither broken, empty, nor needs to be fixed, but it is vulnerable to conditioning. The not-self emerges out of open centers. As oneself, the open center is an opportunity for wisdom.
Understanding Circuit
The Understanding, or Logic, Circuit is one half of the Collective Circuit Group. The understanding circuit describes the logical process of the Collective, built on patterns that need to be tested, validated and substantiated by details so they are reliable and carry us forward into the future. This is about sharing our logical gifts such as analysis, assessments, opinions, details etc. to concretize patterns of life. The circuit theme is sharing.
Uniqueness
Fulfillment of purpose is achieved in following your own inner authority. In serving no other authority, the awake being transcends comparison. It is a fact that all humans are differentiated, but given the power of the not-self, few experience their true uniqueness.
Upper Trigram
The upper Trigram consists of the first three Lines from the top down of any Hexagram.
Uranian Life Cycle
For most of human history and for the greater part of our present Round, the human life cycle has been ‘ruled’ by Saturn. The Saturnian cycle is approx thirty years and for most of our history, this was the general life expectancy. Since the moment of Uranus' discovery in 1781, the quality of life on this planet for our species has improved at an astonishing rate. The Uranian cycle of 84 years has become a universally attainable human longevity standard. In the mysticism of matrixes, the ancient seven Chakra format evolving for millennium transformed into a nine-centered Rave. Humanity as a whole has not yet adapted to this new cycle. Evolution takes time. The flowering of this transition will come in hundreds of years with the arrival of the Aquarian Age. Culturally we are still paying lip service to the old Saturnian cycle of thirty years. We are still being conditioned to know our place in society by the time we leave our teens. Rather than fifteen, the Rave half life is between thirty-eight and forty-four years. The slowness of the so-called 'Boomer' generation born after World War II to mature is seen as an anomaly rather than the vanguard of a new developmental cycle that it is.
Uranus
Keynote: Unusualness, Chaos, and Innovation Uranus in your chart describes where you need to follow your own track, where you can express yourself in unique and different ways. Uranus breaks up the old order once limitations need to be transcended so the new may emerge. This is often precipitated by instability and chaos out of which new forms can be created. The gate it activates denotes an area where you are subject to possibly sudden and unexpected experiences typical of this Uranian dynamic, with a break up of the old forms around midlife and the subsequent renewal in the second half of life, after the Uranus opposition.
Uranus Opposition
Technically, the Uranus opposition occurs when the transiting Uranus reaches a point exactly opposite its position at birth. In Human Design Analysis, the Uranus opposition divides a life into its parts.
Vehicle
In the Human Design, metaphors for individual being are three components: the Vehicle (Design Crystal), the Driver (Magnetic Monopole) and the Passenger (Personality Crystal). In this context, the vehicle is the body.
Venus
Keynote: Values and Relating Venus establishes our values, and affects how we interact and relate with each other, and what we deem valuable. The qualities of Venus are associated with beauty, grace, and aesthetics. Venus represents our personal morals, which determine how we relate on an individual and communal/collective level. The Venus theme in our life is described by the gate, and more specifically by the line that is activated.
Views
The teaching and practice of Human Design Analysis is based on the Four Views. Each view is a synthetic formula that when combined with the other views results in a multi-dimensional perspective. The Views are: 1. Definition 2. Type 3. Authority 4. Profile
Voice
According to Ra Uru Hu's subjective interpretation and anthropomorphization of a sustained frequency communication originating from the Design Crystal Bundle, the eight-day encounter was more than an acoustic experience. It was also both physical and visual.
Wa
In the Design of Forms, the Wa is the largest of the transpersonal. A Wa, a primary auric pool, is composed of three Pentas and an Alpha.
Waiting
For the vast majority of humanity, waiting is the key. Whether you are among the 65% who are Generators, or the 50% who are emotional, or Projectors or Reflectors who are neither—purpose, wholeness, and health demand waiting. There is no hurry. There is the perfect timing of the program. The great spiritual reward for those who wait for correctness is the wonder and joy that life indeed provides.
Waiting for the Moon
In the general scheme of things, Reflectors are really different. They have no definition and comprise approximately 1-2% of the human population. Where the other Types are referred to as Solar, Reflectors are referred to as Lunar. Given their openness, all Reflectors are dependent on others or the planets to initiate their processes. The Moon moves constantly directly around the wheel faster than any other imprinting element. Its cycle is 29.5 days. The Moon spends slightly less than twelve hours in a Gate. All the activations of the Reflector are facing inactive harmonic Gates. The Moon in its rapid cycle will activate and for that half day define each and every harmonic Gate. This Lunar cycle is the basis of the decision-making strategy of the Reflector to wait for the Moon. It takes an entire cycle of activation and digestion for the Reflector to reach a correct decision.
Wave
In Human Design, the name given to the effect of the Solar Plexus Motor. The emotional Wave is a movement between hope and pain. There are three different kinds of emotional waves: 1. The Ratchet Wave: Tribal; one step forward and one step back until explosion 2. The Spike Wave: Individual: generally even but subject to sharp spikes 3. The Crash Wave: Collective Abstract: gradual rise and dramatic fall
Will Power
Despite propaganda concerning its universality, willpower is an attribute of a defined Heart Center. The not-self strategy of the undefined Heart/Ego center is a life of trying to prove your worthiness.
Yang
