The Three Kinds of Projectors

Projectors occupy a unique role within our families, communities, and society at large. They are equipped with an unusual capacity to recognize and understand others, particularly the way energy can be directed and managed more effectively. Their focused and absorbing aura penetrates into the other, giving them access to information that supports their natural ability to guide.

Yet Projectors are also one of the most mechanically diverse Types. There is no single configuration that defines what every Projector looks like beyond the fundamental mechanics of Non-Sacral and no motor to the Throat Center.

The BodyGraph contains many Projected Channels, creating an enormous range of possible Projector configurations. One Projector may have only a single channel of definition between the Head and Ajna, while another may have extensive definition throughout the BodyGraph involving eight of the nine Centers.

Projected Channels are the most numerous in the BodyGraph. They do not generate or manifest energy. There are 22 in total, meaning 61% of the 36 available Channels require some form of recognition and invitation for their qualities to be expressed correctly. Image Source: MaiaMechanics Illustrator

This variety is one reason understanding a Projector requires going beyond Type alone. Recognition and invitation provide the common foundation, but the particular Projector standing in front of you can be remarkably different from another Projector.

What Projectors Share in Common

All Projectors are non-Sacral beings with at least one defined channel. The Sacral Center must be undefined, and no motor center can be connected, directly or indirectly, to the Throat. These fundamental mechanics distinguish the Projector from the Generator, Manifestor, and Reflector Types.

Within that fundamental structure, however, there are three basic categories according to a unique chart: Classic, Mental, and Energy Projectors. These distinctions matter because they describe very different relationships with definition, energy, Inner Authority, conditioning, and the environment. All three remain Projectors and share the same fundamental Strategy of recognition and waiting for the invitation, but how they experience being a Projector can vary enormously.

Classic Projectors

Classic Projectors have definition below the Throat Center that does not include a motor. Because there is no motor definition in their design, they experience the fuel of other people's motors through their openness. This is often described as being able to "test or taste" the fuel of others, giving Classic Projectors the potential to become particularly objective and selective about the people and invitations they accept.

Classic Projectors will have a defined Throat with Spleen, G, or both also defined. They do not, however, have any of the Motor Centers: the Sacral, Root, Solar Plexus, or Heart defined. Image Source: MaiaMechanics Illustrator

This openness can be uplifting and empowering when they encounter healthy energy, but it can also expose them to frequencies that are detrimental to their vitality. A Classic Projector therefore has an important relationship with discernment. Every significant invitation connects the Projector not simply to an opportunity, but to people and their energy. Learning to recognize which people provide healthy energy and which do not becomes essential to their well-being and success.

Mental Projectors

Mental Projectors represent a dramatically different Projector experience from the other two. They have definition involving some combination of the Head, Ajna, and Throat Centers, with no definition below the Throat. This leaves a large portion of the BodyGraph open to environmental influence and conditioning.

Mental Projectors have no Inner Authority in the traditional sense, so clarity involves interacting with the correct environment and using trusted people as sounding boards through which they can hear themselves speak. Their minds are designed as Outer Authority, capable of providing valuable information and guidance to others, but not of determining their own direction through mental decision-making.

Mental Projectors have no definition below the Throat Center. Instead, their consistent life force energy is concentrated “in their head.” Mental Projectors will always have at least a defined Ajna Center, which says a great deal about their inherent capacity to conceptualize, process information, and formulate insights. Image Source: MaiaMechanics Illustrator

One particularly interesting and common channel seen in Mental Projectors is the (43-23), the Channel of Structuring, connecting the Ajna to the Throat. This highlights something important for Projectors more broadly: communication matters. Recognition is not merely about possessing insight. A Projector also benefits from developing the ability to articulate what they see, explain themselves clearly, and communicate their knowledge to people who are actually ready to receive it.

Energy Projectors

Energy Projectors have one or more Motor Centers defined, excluding the Sacral Center. These can include the Heart/Ego, Solar Plexus, or Root. This gives them access to consistent motor energy that Classic and Mental Projectors do not possess, but it does not turn them into an Energy Type. They remain Projectors and still depend upon recognition, invitation, and their appropriate Authority.

Energy Projectors are, in and of themselves, a very complex category of Projectors. Their definition can include the Root connected to the Spleen, the Root connected to the Solar Plexus, the Solar Plexus connected to the Heart, the Heart connected to the G Center, the Heart connected to the Spleen, or various combinations of these connections! One of the primary distinctions among Energy Projectors is whether the Solar Plexus is defined or undefined, as this determines whether or not they have Emotional Authority.

Energy Projectors are simple to identify, as they will always have at least one Motor Center defined. They carry consistent life force energy within themselves that can be described as pressure, drive, emotional intensity, or the willfulness to compete and deliver. Image Source: MaiaMechanics Illustrator

Their defined motors can create additional pressure because there is energy available that wants to flow. This can easily create temptations: initiating merely to release that energy, and accepting invitations that turn the Projector into a laborer rather than recognizing their capacity to guide energy toward greater efficiency and success.

A configuration we frequently encounter with Energy Projectors is the (37-40) Channel of Community, a Projected Channel connecting the Solar Plexus and Heart. Gates 37 and 40 are oppositions in the wheel, so people who carry these Gates as part of their Incarnation Cross or Nodes can have strong ties to community bonds, bargains, and the need for fairness in the give and take of business and family. For Energy Projectors with this common Channel, it is important to remember that time alone and away from family can be just as important as the time spent together. Rest is essential for non-energy Types, allowing the Projector to step away from the energy of others and return to their own pace and frequency.

Experiential Differences in Projectors

Acknowledging your particular Projector configuration is therefore essential. Saying "I am a Projector" tells us something fundamental, but it does not tell us everything about how that Projector moves through life. Consider the difference between an Energy Projector with the Root, Heart, and Solar Plexus motors defined and a Mental Projector whose only definition exists between the Head and Ajna.

Mechanically, these people inhabit very different energetic realities. One experiences consistent motor pressure and must learn how to use that energy without becoming identified with doing and initiating. The other has no definition beneath the Throat and encounters life through great openness to people and environment. Each needs to understand not only their Strategy, but the specific mechanics through which their own design experiences recognition, energy, Authority, openness, and conditioning.

Same Same, But Different

Classic, Mental, and Energy Projectors are ultimately three variations of the same Type. They share the focused and absorbing Projector aura, the Strategy of recognition and waiting for the invitation, the Signature of success, and the Not-Self theme of bitterness. Yet even these common themes will not necessarily feel the same from one Projector to another.

Success for a highly defined Energy Projector can have a very different texture from success for a very open Mental Projector. Likewise, the conditioning that leads toward bitterness will be processed through the particular undefined Centers, Channels, Gates, and relationships present in each individual design.

The Type label gives us an important layer of differentiation, but it never replaces the uniqueness of the complete BodyGraph. The three kinds of Projectors remind us that sharing a Type does not mean sharing an identical experience. They are the same Type, operating through distinctly different versions of Projector mechanics, each designed to discover success through the recognition, invitations, people, and energetic exchanges that are correct for them as individuals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the three kinds of Projectors? +

Every Projector shares the same fundamental mechanics — a non-Sacral being with at least one defined channel and no motor connected to the Throat — but within that structure there are three basic categories: Classic, Mental, and Energy. Classic Projectors have definition below the Throat that does not include a motor. Mental Projectors have definition involving some combination of the Head, Ajna, and Throat, with nothing defined below the Throat. Energy Projectors have one or more Motor Centers defined (the Heart/Ego, Solar Plexus, or Root), but never the Sacral. All three share the Strategy of recognition and waiting for the invitation, yet they experience energy, Inner Authority, and conditioning in very different ways.

What makes a Classic Projector unique? +

Classic Projectors have definition below the Throat, but that definition does not include a motor. Because they carry no motor fuel of their own, they experience the energy of other people's motors through their openness — often described as being able to "test or taste" the fuel of others. This gives them the potential to become remarkably objective and selective about the people and invitations they accept. That same openness can be uplifting when they encounter healthy energy, but it can also expose them to frequencies that are detrimental to their vitality. For this reason, discernment is essential: because every significant invitation connects them not just to an opportunity but to people and their energy, learning to recognize which people provide healthy energy becomes central to their well-being and success.

If Energy Projectors have defined motors, are they still Non-Energy Types? +

Yes. Energy Projectors have one or more Motor Centers defined — the Heart/Ego, Solar Plexus, or Root — but never the Sacral or a motorized Throat, so they remain Projectors and still depend upon recognition, invitation, and their appropriate Authority. Having access to consistent motor energy does not turn them into an Energy Type.
